Get to know the sights in Freiburg ... most notably the landmark of the city, the Freiburg Cathedral, which stretches up to the sky. Its 116 meter high tower with the pierced top is often called "the most beautiful tower on earth". 154 steps take you up to the top and once you get there you have a magnificent view.
The Cathedral Square surrounds the Cathedral and the hustle and bustle of the market on the square tempts you to stroll through the booths in the mornings. Explore Freiburg's City Gardens
The city gardens, the "Stadtgarten" is well worth exploring: The lovingly designed park extends over a total of 2.6 hectares. Since its creation in 1888, it has many stories to tell and offers many places to sit, enjoy and relax - for example in the beautiful rose garden - and also points the way up to the Schlossberg and the observation tower while soaking up all of Freibugs beautiful sunshine.
Museums in Freiburg
Take a trip back in time in one of Freiburg's museums. Discover the Stone Age and the early Middle Ages in the Archaeological Museum Colombischlössle. Encounter the art of the Middle Ages and exhibition pieces from the Freiburg Cathedral in the Augustinermuseum.
In the Museum für Neue Kunst, the art ranges all the way to the present day. And the Museum für Stadtgeschichte, the Museum of City History, shows Freiburg's development over the past 900 years.
